We, JP Steel Plantech Co. are pleased to announce that we have received an order from the Rautaruukki Oyj, Finland together with Mitsubishi Corporation for a cold leveller to be installed at heavy plate shop at Ruukki's Raahe Works, after an order of similar type cold leveler from ILVA, Italy in the late 2006 . The cold leveller is scheduled to start its operation in January 2009, meanwhile ILVA will start its operation in July 2008.
The cold leveller is installed on the finishing line of heavy plates to correct flatness errors generated during rolling and cooling processes.
In order to meet strong requirements from market to supply high tensile strength heavy plates with less residual stress as well as better flatness, Ruukki has evaluated all possible solutions proposed by all machine builders in the world and has finally chosen the solution of JP Steel Plantech.
Our proposed new cold leveler has an ability of the world's largest Levelling Force (6,900 tons; double than previous) with the largest driving power specially equipped with our patented technology, Dynamic Crowning Control.
The cold leveler will be able to maintain optimum roll gaps of all work rolls during the whole leveling time in order to obtain the ideal gyield ratio" to each plate, so that it will minimize residual stress and attain perfect flatness throughout the plate from the head to tail, and across the full width.
